I have always found it very easy.

They usually call in this order:

    Self help
    Pre-book airport transfers
Priority disembakation (Grills and Diamond Cunard World Club members)
    Pre-booked coach transfers
Those left are called off by deck

Cruises booked: Queen Victoria August 2012 and Queen Elizabeth December 2012.

Generally it is fine but I've had two big problematic disembarkations, neither of them Cunard's fault.
Shortly after the Ocean Terminal (Southampton) opened they had a problem with the gangway and had to halt disembarkation and I was delayed about 45 minutes and in June they had to halt disembarkation because the bags were all ashore but the baggage handlers walked out and there were no porters (or very few) and things were backing up since people were not exiting the terminal with their bags.

    Thumbs down

The actual disembarkation has been very easy each time - at Southampton we have transportation to collect us. However, we had a huge problem once at Brooklyn, which regretfully was Cunard's fault and has tainted our view somewhat. Whilst on the ship we had booked a Town Car to take us back to Manhattan and this had been confirmed as in order by Cunard.

We disembarked very easily and emerged out of the terminal on a Very Chilly December morning. It was dry and the sun was shining brightly, but the wind had a serious chill factor going on, and we had just arrived from the Caribbean - brrrr! We were early for the car and waited for 45 minutes, but it failed to arrive. There were no Cunard employees to be found at all, and passengers are not allowed back into the Arrivals Terminal once you have disembarked. This meant we could not speak to any of the employees 'hiding' inside. We decided to take a cab to our hotel at additional expense. When we arrived home, we contacted Cunard and (to cut a long story short) first they accused us of lying, stating that the Town Car had collected us and had taken us to midtown. This was astonishing. Ultimately they refused to apologise for the vehicle not collecting us and refused to reimburse us the $100 we paid for their service as we had not asked the cab driver for a receipt to prove that we had, in fact, been forced to take a cab.

Beware : - we are Cunard Gold Members and had paid a 5 figure sum for that particular holiday and they treated us THAT badly.

We are looking forward to our Celebrity cruise in January!

I have had only one Cunard experience, and had no problems at all. We disembarked in Civitavecchia Italy and just walked of the ship, showing our passport in the terminal and no problems at all. Luggage was easily found, and we did have a coach waiting to take us to Rome airport.

    It was extremely well oprganised
