Haven't yet but definitely considering it. Why? The ambiance, the genteel attitude, the no "dumbing down" of the speakers, treating guests as , well, guests.

For me it as the chance to sail on board QE2, at that time (1991) the most famous ship in service.

A 2 night once in a life time never to be repeated experience, well that's what I thought at the time.

20 years later and I am looking forward to cruise number 25 in October.

Cruises booked: Queen Victoria August 2012 and Queen Elizabeth December 2012.

We had an offer from Cunard which made it affordable to travel with Cunard, also the itinerary was outstanding.

My forthcoming cruise on Queen Victoria, is one we have researched, Stephen has also been very helpful, but please don’t ask me how it compares with the likes of NCL because it’s a different type of ship, with its own character and customs. A cruise is a cruise, and something we enjoy, whatever the scenario is.

We have travelled with seven different cruise companies and one river cruise and all ships have been enjoyable, and we are looking forward to the way of life with Cunard.

In 2004 I was standing at Pier 21 in Halifax with a tour escort friend. We were looking at a RCCL ship docked there and got talking about ships and he told me about his crossing on the QM2 earlier that year.
A month later I stopped in at a travel agency and picked up a Cunard book and decided I had to try it myself. I did my first TA on the QM2 in May of 2005 which included a return flight from England. I was hooked and so it began............

I have since spent 123 days more on board the QM2 both on crossings and cruises and haven't done another transatlantic flight since.

Norman, tell me a little bit about your river cruise. This is something we have been talking about for some time but still haven't done anything about it. I'm afraid we would feel confined both by the space and the lack of dining choices.

River cruising and a cruise on a Cunard ship are far apart and totally different, but our next cruise is taking us to Egypt where we shall see the Pyramids.

We took a Nile cruise on an old but comfortable river cruiser, and the Pyramids and the Sphinx will stretch our knowledge of Egypt further.

Thanks for the beautiful slide show, Norman. That was an impressive river boat - even had a pool.
