    Cunard questions?

    Hi,

I leave for NYC on the 9th and won't be back on this forum until early July. 21 days aboard the QM2. ( I can see Stephen smiling).
If you have anything you would like me to research I will certainly try. I definitely will ask about the latest on smoking restrictions so we can post those.

Hi Linda, 21 days on QM2, LOVELY

I look foward to hearing all about it.

One question that might be useful to our members is about the alternative dining. On QV they had part of the Lido dedicated to alternative dining on some nights. I think they do the same on QM2 in Kings Court, please can you let us know how it works

On the QM2, the King's Court consists of 4 areas:
    1. The Carvery 2. La Piazza 3. Lotus 4. Chef's Galley
They are all open at slightly staggered times for breakfast and lunch. In the evening one is designated open dining as the buffet and the others revert to Reservation only bistros. Rolling screens help change the ambiance, and there is now a $10. charge to dine here. They vary so that one is not constantly the buffet.
I have dined in La Piazza and the food and service were exqusite. The only drawback is that you must walk through this area to get from one end to the other and several of my friends agree that this takes away from the ambiance of the diners to have people constantly wandering by, especially since they are now charging.

But I am happy with Britannia so I would generally dine there.

As to the dreaded packing. I have started and I leave for NYC on Thursday and board the ship on Friday. They are calling for 97F / 34C on Thursday (that is way too hot for me) and cooling down to 83F/28C on Friday with isolated thunderstorms.

If you have time and inclination.......
Anything to do with dance classes , how many there are , what types , do they get lots of students.
Any pictures ( even videos) of dancing on formal nights, ie to see what people wear , types of music. etc
Anything related to the RADA classes, how many people attend , do you have to apply early etc.
Do they have a self service laudomat like Princess ?
Do they have wimberry pies anywhere ?
Does the daily planner give you everything you need to discover activities ? or are some not mentioned ?

    A tall order sorry....

Leave it to Tony to ask about dancing.

The answers to these are yes they have self service laudomats I think there is one on each deck. I don't know about QM2 but on QE2 which only had one, they could be a bit of a war zone at times.

I have never seen wimberry pies, but I did get a bilberry pie last weekend

The Daily Programme (as it's called on Cunard) gives you a full list of whats on

On semi-formal nights a jacket and tie for men are required in the dining room. On eligant casual a lot of men still wear a jacket and tie but the tie is not required (the jacket is).
