Queen Mary 2 Named "Best Luxury Cruise Ship" for Sixth Consecutive Year by Travel Weekly Readers 28 December 2009 - Cunard Line's flagship Queen Mary 2 has once again been named "Best Luxury Cruise Ship" - for the sixth consecutive year - by the readers of Travel Weekly>, the national publication of the travel industry. The award recognizes the ocean liner's dominance in the luxury category. Bestowed at the magazine's seventh annual Readers Choice Awards event, held on 17 December 2009 at The Plaza Hotel in New York City, the awards are presented annually to industry suppliers that set the highest standard for product and service during the past year.
"It is the highest compliment for Queen Mary 2 to have been named 'Best Luxury Cruise Ship' each year she has been in service by Travel Weekly's discerning readership," said Peter Shanks, president of Cunard Line. "The continued recognition is a testament to our staff's commitment to superior White Star Service and to our continued aspiration to provide unique and enriching onboard experiences."
In 2010, Queen Mary 2 will depart on her third World Voyage, continuing the line's rich tradition of offering the most spectacular and historic world-class journeys. Queen Mary 2 will set sail on a completely new Eastbound-Westbound route on a unique itinerary of 101 days featuring 19 maiden calls, three overnight stays (in Hong Kong, Shanghai and Cape Town) and her inaugural visit to South Africa. Additionally, 2010 marks her sixth Transatlantic Crossings season, offering the choice of 6-, 7-, 8- or 9-day Crossings between New York and Southampton, England; Hamburg, Germany; or Cherbourg, France.

Well I for one and DH had been Celebrity Loyalists, but after our TA on QM2, she is our all time favorite. Wish lived in England so I could cruise her more often.
