Today, Monday 12th October 2009, marks one year until Cunard's gracious new Cunarder, Queen Elizabeth will sail out of Southampton and make her sparkling debut on her Maiden Voyage to the Canary Islands.

Since her keel was laid in July, significant progress has been made at the Monfalcone shipyard in Venice. Many more sections have been added and this, our second largest Cunarder ever built, is really starting to take shape.

Over the coming months Cunard will be celebrating her float-out when she takes to the water for the first time and making several important announcements such as the names of her senior officers, and revealing further details of what her priviledged guests can expect to find on board.

I am looking forward to seeing here. Hopefully I will get chance to do a tour next year before she sails.

I still haven't got aboard Queen Victoria. I will one day I'm sure.
