All it takes is money and a lot fewer house repairs.
We also have house repairs, in fact new kitchen cabinets and counter tops are coming in 2 weeks. We have put that off for abouyt 9 years. So ging to dip into our financial money, and get it done. We are used to doing 3 cruises a year so this is really getting to us. Especially with all of our cuising friends either on a nice ruise now or leaving soon.
But as our doctor said to us, life is too short and if you can do it go! We aren't rich, by any means, but we raised our family and try not to pile up too many bills. The one thing we love above everything is our cruises. So Nealberk, start looking into ways you can do it. Its worth every dime you spend. Good luck
Lars, I do have pictures of our cruise, but don't know how to get them on this web site. We took many pictures. So if someone could help me thruputting some of them on here I ill try my best.
Jeanne, I know, but we were hit with a nasty one two hit on foundation and foundation plumbing to the tune of about $15,000. We were planning on a long cruise next year on Celebrity or Cunard but we may have to put things off for another year. Both my wife and I would rather save up for an extra year and take a really nice cruise than compromise and take something that is not as memorable. In 07 we took a TA in a suite. It was expensive but the memories will last us forever. Won't talk about last year's cruise to the Caribbean on HAL other than to say that we got what we paid for - a cruise from hell.

We don't care about the larger suites, but must have a balcony, which is perfect for us. Never did HAL, but always heard good things about them, so as surprised that you called it cruise from hell. What went worng? Foundation problems, thats bad.

No, but next time, will try. Being new to Cunard and QM2, there was so much to do and explore and then the land tours..Just not enough time for everything, but we are making a list for next time so we don't miss some of the things. We did catch one play done by RADA and I really enjoyed it. Husband not so much, he wuld have rather been in the casino!
Was it a short play in the day ? do you know if any of the passengers participated ? Most activities in the day seem to last only 1 hr at most. I havn't cruised Cunard but am booked for a Transatlantic in August. Don't want to miss anything good.

Can't comment on the RADA things, but most activities last between 45 minutes and one hour. But as there is often more han one thing on at once you may have to miss something, but thats an excuse to go back again

RADA put on the play, "The importance of being Ernest" and it was only the actors no passengers. It was shown twice one evening during the showtimes. It was about 45 minutes long. They had other shows but we didn't make it to them. They had shows in the afternoon and evening.
This time we are going with friends and I think the ladies will probably go see what the RADA acting workshop is all about. They also had poetry readings and a few other plays they put on. If its also your first time on QM2, be prepared to "try" and do a lot. Hope you enjoy your cruise as much as I did.
Ah, the cruise from Hell. I gave a long writeup about it in my (almost) live from thread last year but the brief synopsis is that I got Noro two days into the cruise which kept me out of action for four days. Then when I finally got released from room confinement the ship supplied hair dryer exploded in my hand giving me second degree burns. Then my wife got Noro on the last two days of the cruise. What was really bad was the ship attitude to the whole thing. While we had Noro we could not eat in the dining rooms but they did give us room service and the nighttime main dining menu. But those were emphatically our only options. For example, I called and asked for french toast for breakfast one morning (they have it upstairs every morning) Nope, not on the room service menu, they would not deliver it. Ginger ale? Cans only at full regular price. Water to dissolve the gatorade powder the ship nurse gave me? None unless I wanted to use the $5 bottled water they had. Regarding the hair dryer incident. Doctors are not on call in the morning (you have to wait until the infirmary opens) and they do not have a first aid kit available. After three letters HAL has offered me $250 off on my next cruise. I told them what they can do with their offer.
