CONSTRUCTION OF QUEEN ELIZABETH BEGINS
Keel Laying Ceremony held in Italy At 1500 hours tomorrow, Thursday 2 July, a ceremony to mark the Keel Laying of Cunard’s gracious new Queen Elizabeth will be held at the Monfalcone shipyard of Fincantieri near Trieste, Italy. The second largest Cunarder ever built, Queen Elizabeth’s keel is the third Cunard has laid in the space of seven years. When she enters service in October 2010 she will become the third in a fleet of Queens which already comprises Queen Mary 2 and Queen Victoria; together these three liners define a new golden age of ocean liner travel. The Cunard fleet is the most famous in the world and the youngest in the passenger shipping.

Stephen, I have 2 questions for you.

1. What makes Carol's red jacket lucky?

2. Is she the only female head of a cruise line?

I don't know, but it's a bit of an in joke, she always has a red jacket on for any big event.

Pamela Conover who used to be at Cunard is now Prestident of Seabourn, I don't know of any others, but there may be some.

I believe those are the only two.
Ann Sherry is CEO of Carnival Australia since July 2007, if that counts. She was at P&O.

Stephen & Char

My Mum and I always make our own joke.... Carol Marlow always seems to wear red, so when we see anyone with a red jacket like she has, we say "Look there's Carol Marlow" We go round town counting them sometime!
