The Cunard Book Club offers the opportunity for thought-provoking literary discussions among our guests each voyage. Book Club selections will change quarterly and are reflective of the interests of each ship’s guests; selections for Queen Mary 2's Club will be drawn from the New York Times’ best-sellers list. Depending on the length of the voyage, one or more Book Club meetings will be scheduled. Guests can check the ship’s Daily Programme for details about the Book Club selection and meeting time. Each Book Club meeting will be led by the ship's Librarian, who will provide a short history of the author and lead the discussion. For those who wish to participate on their voyage but haven't yet read the selection, multiple copies of the book will be available at the ships’ library, as well as for purchase at the book store.
A great idea but I am not a big reader so I have not taken advantage of the book club. Has anyone on here?
I did do the book club on the QV. They had posted the name of the book well in advance, so I had plenty of time to read it prior to the meeting. There were only about 3 of us at the meeting, which was led by one of the librarians. We had a fairly lively discussion, but it was not nearly as stimulating as my book group at home's discussions!
I have not encountered book clubs on other lines, and it really was a pleasant experience!
Thanks for giving us your first hand experience with the new book club.
And a big welcome to our friendly cruise community! Explore and enjoy all that CLF has to offer. And while you are out and about, stop by and introduce yourself here---> Introduce Yourself!
