NEWBIE TO CLF and Cunard Forum

I like reading about Cunard, the ships and traveller's experiences. Before our first voyage, we obtained a wealth of information from members of another cruise site (Not CC) which made our planning more enjoyable.

I have no affiliation with others and no wish to be categorized, by default, as one of the newbies. Surely Mods have to balance the overall needs of all and the integrity of the forum? Some recent questions have, at best, seemed mischievous. There seem to be threads here for amusement. What's wrong with keeping the off topic discussions on those threads?

As a UK poster, I'm happy to share views or advice which may help others over the pond. I'm sure the majority will reciprocate if I seek help.

    Hi Anteeta:

There is quite a lot of interest in Cunard from the North American side of the pond so I believe as things settle down you will get lots of questions. Its the most well-known and most-accessible European line for North Americans over the internet. Say P&O over here and you get a lot of blank stares.

I believe there are going to be helpful people everywhere on the net and thus be patient. I myself initiated my "affair" with Cunard just last year and already have two sailings under my belt - one in the Caribbean on the QM2 and one in Europe on the QE2. Trip #3 is already booked for 2008. I profess to not be an expert simply because no matter how many times you are on the same ship there is always something you missed the earlier times.

Simply a Canadian laying low but always willing to put in my 2 cents worth of knowledge at any time.

I have been sailing on Cunard ships since 1991, I have been on QE2 13 times and Caronia twice. Never been on QM2 as there are no single cabins and I would have to pay double!

I would not call myself an expert, but I will answer any questions I can.

P&O..... I used to think that P&O had a major line, Princess, but they sold it to Carnival. On our TA, I saw lots of small P&O ships everywhere. There is much more to that line than I thought.
