How YOU can get past passenger rates on your first Cunard trip!

Folks should remember that, as Cunard is part of the larger Carnival Corp., they are members of "The World's Leading Cruise Lines" (WLCL) This group of lines all owned by Carnival Corp. have a program called "Vacation Interchange Priviledges" (VIP) which allows past passengers on any other WLCL member line to get past passenger rates. As they say on the website, make sure to ask your TA! Here's the link:Cunard: The Most Famous Ocean Liners In The World

The other lines in this are:

    Princess
    Holland America
    Costa
    Carnival
    The Yachts fo Seabourne
    Windstar

This scheme has been going on for quite some time.

In my experience, Princess has the most agressive operation in this interchange programme. I keep getting literature offering special promotions, (even tho I've never sailed them before ... ) with an assigned 'membership' number.

That number is my Cunard World Club #, with a different alpha code at the end of it.

It looks like Cunard is jumping on the bandwagon, but with a more subtle approach.

Hey, JP, you're right, it's been around for a while, but many folks who "Cruise Line" hop forget.....it's often mentioned on the back of the brochures...

I've had a weird experience with Princess, too...I've only done a few cruises, but after each one, I seem to jump a few levels....I'm platinum or some such thing now...oh, well. I think I'm supposed to get free dry cleaning on board now...almost makes it worth it to book a short trip!

At least Princess makes an attempt to lure people ... with thier repeaters programme. HAL prefers to sweep pax like me* under the carpet, and 'reward' new people, just because they book suites.

In the end, most "loyalty programs" lack any real perks...RCCL seems to have good ones, from what I've heard, but Celebrity doesn't...who understands these things...But for those cruises on Cunard where you could get a better past-passenger rate, it's worth it....
