It is sad because the majority of the passengers may never have another chance to go on a World Cruise.

Cruising is a wonderful way to enjoy retirement!!
Stopped counting after 110 cruises.
Oh Baloney!!
Just more sloppy and irresponsible "reporting" by media desperate for sensational stories.
QE2 is now enroute to Hawaii, as scheduled, on schedule!
Think about it...cancelling the world cruise is not like cancelling a few days of island hopping.
What would the ship do for the next three months?
The norovirus was pretty much history by the time QE2 arrived in Los Angeles on Monday.
In San Francisco, only four passengers were still suffering from symptoms, far far below the 3% that the CDC considers acceptable.
Kyle-
So glad to hear that the ship is on her way and that they didn't cancel the cruise.
It made no sense to me either. Shame on the Media!!!![]()

HAL-152 days; Celebrity-27 days; RCCL-28 days; Disney-7 days Total- 214 days
Coming up- 11/07 Veendam, 2/08 Oosterdam Yum Yum Man cruise, 9/08 Eurodam NE/Canada
That is really strange that 2 different news casts had the same story. Sue lives in Florida and I live in PA -- definitely we weren't watching the same station.
Thanks for the update.

You are right Yonnie!! I heard it on the local station out of Ft Myers and on Fox as well!!
Some people try to turn back their odometers. Not me! I want people to know why I look this way. I've traveled a long way, and some of the roads weren't paved.
Reporting that QE2's world cruise is cancelled, barely three weeks into it, is quite a statement, if it were true.
Obviously these "reporters" did not bother to do any research.
If they had, they would have learned that the noro outbreak was over and done with, and it was days before QE2 arrived in San Francisco.
And if they had bothered to check with anyone connected to Cunard Line, even a passenger, they would have known that the world cruise is most definately not cancelled.
When QE2 arrived in Los Angeles last Monday, there was pretty much no media coverage, as the ship is here annually, so there's not much of a story there, especially since by then the noro outbreak was contained.
But QE2 has not been in San Francisco for several years, therefore there was some media interest, plus the by-then dead story of the noro outbreak.
This woke up some sleepy reporters looking for a story to sell. And sell it they did, as inaccurate as it was, and in the case of the cancelled world cruise, downright untrue.
Sorry for the rant, but the sloppiness and irresponsibility of today's media just gets to me.![]()
And, here at CLF, you deserve to know the truth.![]()
Then we apologize for the apparent lies!!

Guess I'll have to stop watching NBC at 5 AM and play more on my computer.
