Thanks for the correction and info about the height and design of the smokestack, Kyle.

The Queens in FLL is the first album on my webshots albums page.

Unfortunately shooting directly into the rising sun was unavoidable for many of the shots that I wanted.

QM2 was tied up long before QE2 arrived. Therefore, those on QM2 by far had the better view, as they were able to watch the legendary QE2 sail into the channel and tie up off QM2's starboard bow.

I arrived on QE2 in Fort Lauderdale after a six night North Atlantic crossing from Southampton to NYC, then two nights down to Florida.

Some of the passengers on QE2 then transfered over to QM2, for her maiden world cruise.

Some of the shots will look repetitive, but I was having fun taking them.
The final two photos, of the two Queens across the port, were taken from the foredeck of the Regal Empress, which I joined immediately after disembarking from QE2.
Just felt like a quick trip to the Bahamas.
Actually, I just wanted to see the ship, which was built on the Clyde River in Scotland, same as QE2, but launched in 1953. The wood interiors of Regal Empress are gorgeous, and she has a positively beautiful dining room. More on her, and photos, later.

In the meantime, enjoy my photos of QE2 meets QM2.
Well that was nice, arriving on the QE 2 last Wednesday morning, so you had a first hand knowledge and views of the meeting of the Queens. I was on the 17th St Bridge snapping pictures just after 9:30 am.
I enjoyed your up close and personal photos of the two Queens in Ft Lauderdale. Would really like to see pictures of the interior of the Regal Empress. Thanks for sharing.

I've posted some random shots, interior and exterior. If you go to my albums, it's the third one after the recent QE2 ones.

Thanks for all the complements everyone!

Kyle, this classic liner, Regal Empress, has been well maintained. Nice pictures of her interior.

    Nice shots Kyle!

She's a beautiful ship .... let's hope Regal holds on to her for a while.
(I'm hoping to sail on that beauty soon )
"Getting there is half the fun .... go CUNARD!
