    Well,low blood sugar is definitely a lot more of a problem for a type I diabetic! They really have a challenge in monitoring and raising blood sugar when it falls too low, but then having to be careful about keeping it in control and not have it spike. But it is the low blood sugar that is most likely to kill them.

    I'm pre-diabetic and on a low carb diet (much lower than the ADA diet), and I had no trouble on our cruise last March on NCL. I did order off the "always available" section of the menu several nights as the main courses were pasta, had sauces with sugar, etc.

    I'm also diabetic, the doctor told me to just eat normal but to stay away from Rice which turns into sugar very fast and to stay away from any Sauces when on vacation
