Bora Bora in the Sun Princess Oct 2007

I warned you there was more to come!

This was the visit to Bora Bora in the Sun Princess Sept/Oct 2007 - her last trip across the Pacific before relocating to Australia.

Neato! What a great vantage point to get the panoramic views.

'Neato'? Now that's an expression new to me.

And actually, yes, it was good to see it all unfold below us, but I was nearly scalped trying to wiggle my way through to the front of the crowd, and then nearly concussed as I banged my head on the rail getting up again. But the view was well worth it.

We should really have gone on a ship excursion though as there was nothing to do in the local area, and the locals were 'trying it on' with their prices. I think some Americans suffered badly by not knowing the conversion rate: we noticed that some of the pricing in the local currency was double what it should have been. And we heard one man had been charged an exorbitant amount for postcards and stamps, something like $40! We didn't find this on any of the other Polynesian islands.

Haha! That is an expression from way back --probably from the 50's or 60's.

Too bad those islanders were not being honest in their dealings. Every tourist should familiarize themselves about the local currency and exchange rate.....no excuse letting themselves get bamboozled

The music on your video was very appropriate - while watching it, I took a "sentimental journey" back to the late '70's, when I went to Bora Bora and Moorea at Club Med. The resort on Bora Bora had the rooms out over the water, and the "beach" was created by dumping crushed coral, making it very coarse to walk on. But, nontheless, it's one of the most beautiful places on earth!
