Depending on the magnitude of the issue, I would try to get over it move on. I'll tell you one thing that made one family's day. We lost our camera case (not the camera and case, just the case) so it wasn't a big deal although I had hoped that someone would end us turning it in. I kept checking with the front desk and 2 days later, they came out with a case that looked just like mine so I was sure it was mine. Nothing odd about this case, but when I went to swap memory cards, I grabbed a chip out of the zipper'd pocket and put it. It said it was full. When looking at the pictures, it became clear that the chip belonged to someone else. This is what I was thinking. Some family found my case and adopted it putting their chip in it and later decided to turn it in or something forgetting that they left their chip in it. The chip had hundreds of precious pictures on it dating back months, but we were able to recognize these two twins in some of the pictures. I told my kids to stay on the lookout for these kids to find their parents. We were on the Liberty of the Seas (HUGE SHIP!!!) so I wasn't sure, but we did spot them in Belize City. I approached them, told them the story, and gave them their chip back. It was really their case (exact same one as mine). They said to keep the case as they were happy to have the chip with the pictures back. They DID say they were glad that we didn't get ahold of their other chip because............. ;-)

Wonder what was in the other!

Glad it worked out so well for you both! Really, it's easy to pick up the wrong camera!

    Loaded question!

As some of you may have read under the Celebrity Heading, we were unlucky to be on the Century, Oct. 13th sailing.

How well did I handle it? Considering that I had to make alternative arrangements, mainly from an internet cafe that I had to tender to and from, I guess I handled it OK. On the other hand, if I want to be hard on myself (which I usually am, says my husband!), I found it very difficult to accept the lack of professionalism and/or competence displayed by the captain and his officers.

I am very thankful that we were anchored and not out in the middle of the ocean. The way the situation was handled (or rather not handled), we would have been in deep trouble.

The only complaint that we have had on any ship that was not dealt with is the extremely high volume that is prevalent in the showroom/theater. Especially for the production shows. It seems that all the lines we have sailed on in the last 5 to 10 years blast us out of the room! We have mentioned it to every CD, not really expecting anything to be done, but registering our complaint. I know a lot of folks who feel the same way we do and it's a shame that we have to miss those shows, but it's downright painful at times! We might be old, but we're not deaf! And no hearing aid to turn down, either!
We had never experienced a problem with the volume in the showroom until our last cruise on the Liberty of the Seas last month. It was so loud we left the show.

That's a real shame! They work so hard to produce good shows and a portion of the audiance doesn't enjoy it at all because it's so loud!

I have been noticing that more and more on the ships, Char. In fact, on our last cruise several people mentioned the volume in the main production shows.

A sign of the times, I suppose. The generation(s) younger than we are have been listening to loud concerts for a number of years, so I suppose it's a natural thing for them to expect bone jarring, vibrating sound!
