    Interesting post, Lars!

In the worst I know someone who was on Pride of Aloha (NCL) who said the whole ship was horrid. I though she was exaggerating -- guess not!

A score below 85 is not satisfactory.
The Pride of Aloha got a score of 78 during her last inspection.

Here is the report from CDC:

Thanks Lars! It is very interesting to read the reports about what did not pass and how it was corrected.

I used to check them all the time, but It's been a couple of years since I looked!

Hate admit it ... but I NEVER check the safety rating of a ship before I book or cruise on it.

Wonder how many others are aso guilty of not doing this either?

Carnival Victory was in the news a couple weeks ago for getting a score of 100.
Makes me glad that I chose this ship to go on this summer.

Probably most cruisers. I think no matter how clean a ship is some people can still get sick on it. What if a traveler gets sick while in port? When she boards the ship again, the virus goes on with her. A clean ship is not going to prevent that from happening.

By the way, I am NOT saying the safety ratings don't matter. My point is you can't assume it is as simple as a score of 100.
