Let's compile a list of things to do or check to make sure your home is safe and secure while you are away on a cruise.

I'll start. Please feel free to copy and paste, adding your tip to the list. THANKS!

CLF TIPS for Making your HOME SECURE While You Cruise

1.- NEVER give your full name, city of residence, and dates of your cruise publically. (Like here on CLF.)

    2. - Make sure the emergency contact you gave the cruiseline knows you will be gone and how to contact you.

Number 7 is really important here in Central Florida, where we have more recorded lightening strikes than in any other part of the country. Scientists actually come here to study it.

Today, we had several hundred strikes in the center section of our county in a little less than an hour's tiime

    9. Do NOT record a message on your answering machine announcing that you will be 'out of town' until x date... think about it.

I don't do any of those things!

I cruise with the girls and my DH stays home and watches the house and the cats! He likes it this way as he is not much for traveling anywhere.
