I don't think RCL gives any free Internet usage in their program, but I think it would be a good idea. Has anyone ever gotten a stateroom upgrade based on your frequent cruiser program status? If so, was it well received?

I am not sure at what level it starts, we are D+, we get a coupon for 20 minutes of free internet from RCL. It is about enough time to check in and print boarding passes for out flight home.

We have received a few upgrades from RCL. Only one of them since they started the current policy of upgrading based on C&A status. We went from a balcony to a Jr Suite. They have gotten very good at selling out the Jr and full suites so those upgrades are not very common.

I still believe that RCL has one of the best programs. Although they took away the CL from Diamond Member, they are adding Diamond Lounges to more of their ships so that benefit is improving. When we sailed on the Liberty OTS we actually preferred the Diamond Lounge over the Concierge Lounge.

The balcony discount is also very nice.

In January we will be sailing on Celebrity and it will be interesting to compare sailing with them as Elite. The last time we sailed with Celebrity was before they gave Elite status to Diamond Members.

I haven't heard that upgrades are related in any way to how many times one has sailed on a cruise line.

Now that we are elite on Celebrity we will have to try out RCL. Had to get our points first since the two lines are not cumulative. Does Celebrity communicate the fact to RCL or do you have to tell them manually?

Can you expand on the differences or betterments between the Concierge Lounge and the Diamond Lounge?

I think Celebrity has the best program out there at the moment. We are Elite on Celebrity and love the recognition and benefits we receive.

Complimentary laundry service for Elite Members of Princess Cruises' Captain's Circle has got to be one of the best onboard perks ever.

Neal, your elite status with Celebrity will translate to diamond status on RCL but to get the perk(s) you will have to contact RCL's Crown & Anchor Society and get a C&A member number. That is if you do not already have a C&A number. If you do just contact C&A after you make your RCL booking (with an travel agent of course :-) ) so they pull your status into the booking. Hope that helps some.

Agreed. I can't think of a single time I've been on a vacation, cruise or otherwise, that I thought - "Gosh, I'm so pleased to be doing my own laundry".

    Nice choice.
