Thread: Carnival Miracle going into dry dock??????

Hey everybody, was wondering if anybody had any information regarding the Carnival Miracle going into dry dock in January 2012. Was wondering if someone would know what they will be doing to her...is it just regular maintenance or are they doing anything else? Any info would be greatly appreciated...Thank u

Welcome to CruiseLineFans - thanks so much for joining and posting.

The Miracle is slated for drydock Jan 16 -23rd, 2012. It's a pretty short time frame and I haven't yet seen the Miracle listed for the Fun Ship 2.0 Carnival upgrades.

I'm going to guess that it will be some minor cosmetic fixes, new carpets, new TVs, and other basic maintenance.

However - I will keep trying to get a more substantive answer for you during this coming business week and get back to you on this thread.

Are you scheduled for a Carnival Miracle cruise in 2012?

Thanks for the info...My husband and i are actually booked on Valentine's Day and we are quite looking forward to sailing on her....We we're actually scheduled to sail on her a few years ago but The Miracle had to go into dry dock unexpectedly and we had to book on another ship...We we're very disappointed...We are very excited, therefore any info is greatly appreciated...Thank you for your time.

We'll be sailing on the Miracle next Wednesday, 11/2. Maybe I can find out something from the cruise director.

We will be on the Miracle on Jan 27, 2012, after the dry dock. It's a 2 night cruise.

According to the captain while on board this past week, he said that they would be creating a "serenity area" on the top deck, make some general repairs (safety issues), and go through refurbishing of carpets, furniture, etc. Another passenger told me later that they would likely be adding restaurants, such as Italian, and other readily recognizable names such as Starbucks, and other well known chains. He called it something like "Fun Ships 2", which sounds like a program which would be used to update other ships.

Yeah - the Fun Ship 2.0 upgrade program is fairly comprehensive and will be instituted just about fleetwide by 2013.

Hmm, this is the first I've heard of Starbucks ... Lord help me if they do -- myself, DD and DH are in HEAPS of trouble!

Yes, they will be adding the Funship 2.0 feature that began on Carnival Liberty, but it does not include Starbucks as far as I'm aware. I know Royal Caribbean recently added Starbucks on Oasis of the Seas, so maybe that passenger is confusing the two lines. As I posted above, Myself and I'll add here, Jemingway will be on the Miracle on Jan 27 after the drydock and I'll will let you all know with pictures. Stay tuned, just what, 14 more days? Yep.
