Walkie Talkies, any of you use them on your cruise?

I think they"re great. So much cheaper than cell phone roaming charges. DW and I always lose each other on those big cruise ships and they come in so handy

We don't Gene cause we are together almost all the time But for those that need to find the other they are excellent
Some people try to turn back their odometers. Not me! I want people to know why I look this way. I've traveled a long way, and some of the roads weren't paved.

Well, Sue that is great, but I go on a cruise to get away from it all. Sometimes DW is part of that "all" Seriously though, don't you ever leave him to get a pedicure, facial, massage, etc, and when you're done you can't find him anywhere?

We used them when our kids would cruise with us. But make sure you get the longest range you can afford since the shorter range ones don't work real well on a ship - too many electronics and too much steel. Nowadays you can get 20-mile range walkie-talkies relatively cheap. They work great!

Now, if I can get my wife to use them when we go to the mall!!

Only problem is that they are now getting so popular that you can never find a clear channel.

Did anyone notice that the Oasis is going to have phones for shipboard only use?

We haven't used them. But then hubby and I are usually together on the cruise. The one time during our last cruise that we were apart was when he found another guitarist to jam with (and later on, a third one joined in) on the Promenade deck. While I hanged out with a group of fellow trivia lovers as we went from one match to another.

I can imagine on the next cruise our daughter will be a teenager so we may have to think about this communication issue beforehand.
