Self-Service Laundry Rooms --Merged 2 threads

Let's make a LIST of the cruise lines we know for sure that have Self-Service Laundry Rooms.

Also .... What they are like (if you know)? How important is it to you that your ship have one? Do they vary within the cruise line from ship to ship?Any other comments would also be welcomed.

As you Know Princess has self service laundry on each stateroom floor. Very clean with 3 each: washers, dryers and ironing boards.

Because my hubby insists we keep our luggage down, and one of our family members is allergic to regular detergent (which means we can't use the ship's laundry service), self-service laundromats are a must.

We've used them on Princess and Carnival. I've seen HAL ships being listed as having them too (but I think it's not every ship).

It is very important to me. I don't mind doing laundry while I read and I really like traveling lite. Does the RCI BofS have one?

    Hey Lee

None of the Royal Caribbean OR Celebrity ships have self service laundries on board. They offer laundry, dry cleaning and pressing service....for the oft mentioned "nominal fee".

In all of our many cruises on various cruise lines I have never used the self service laundries, preferring to use the cruise line's service. I will wash out a few delicate items in the sink, but I'm on vacation and prefer to let the ship's staff take care of these things.

Cunard's QM2 has self-serve laundry rooms and the washers/dryers are free and they also provide the soap.

Thanks Yonnie. I didn't know that some HAL ships had them and others did not.
