    Music in the cabins

My wife and I will be in a cabin with a balcony, (not a suite). The ship is RCI's Brilliance OTS and this will be our first cruise. We really enjoy soft music in the room when we are on vacation so we always pack a small CD player and some of our favorite CDs. We are trying to pack lite and wonder if we will have "piped-in music" or a choice of music channels on the TV. Should we bring the portable CD player and some music? Thanks in advance for your help.

Some of the TV channels will play music. I am not sure if its soft music though, I cant remember hearing any soft music.
Knowing Royal Caribbean the music would probably be upbeat to remind you that you are having fun
to bring a small cd player might be an excellent idea.
We usually bring one of our laptops for music etc

Don't know about RC, but on Princess, you won't have piped in music in the cabins. You can find music on the in-cabin tv on some of the channels, such as the bridgecam and the navigation channels (the one with the weather, distance travelled, etc. info). On our last cruise, there was Christmas music playing constantly on these channels for the first few days as it was a holiday cruise.

There was piped in music in many of the public areas, such as the buffet, and the Promenade deck area of the Grand Atrium. Hubby had to look a while to find an area where the music was softer so he can play his guitar. At one point he was joined by two other guitarists and they had a jam session (I was elsewhere playing trivia).

OK, I'm going to pack the cd player. I would love to bring my guitar, but we will be traveling lite this time.
