I think I've mentioned this before somewhere around here, but on our last cruise there was a family who walked around wearing their life jackets. Even the parents. It was pretty strange.

Dave...for the entire cruise they wore the vests??? Or during muster drill?![]()
Maybe the life jackets accessorized their outfits nicely!![]()

On one of our cruises we had a couple in their 80's who were on their honeymoon. Every day they wore different wigs and toupees but it seem like they wore the same outfits every other day.
HMMM - maybe they should have worn their life jackets????![]()

The most unusual sight I was wasn't exactly on the ship. It was a Russian submarine we came very (and I mean VERY) close to in the Baltic. Someone yelled "look, a submarine!" and it seemed like everybody on the entire ship ran over to the port side. I'm surprised the ship didn't list over sideways! It ran alongside us for a little ways and then went back underwater. Not something you see every day.![]()
Save a Lizard, ride a Horse.
That submarine incident reminded me of another incident.
Years ago when we were on the Cunard Countess, 2 fighter jets from Cuba flew VERY low over the ship and scared everyone. We had no idea if they were going to drop a bomb on us. Within seconds the captain came on and annouced that there was nothing to worry about. He said that whenever a couple of the cuban pilots knew when a ship would be passing by their base, they would jump in their planes and fly over the ship.

On our last cruise, we were walking down a hallway and come up to a man walking very very slowly and in the middle so we couldn't get around him. He had hearing aids in both ears. I think a friend finally saw him and us and tried to get him to move aside but the man didn't hear him. We kept seeing him around, on formal night, in Victoria. He seemed to have a lot of spirit.
We dubbed him "Magic Mountain Guy" because he looked like that guy who dances in the Six Flags commercials.

While probably not that unusual, on the Destiny we came across a lady in a fluorescent green bikini. Not that unusual but she was in her upper 70's and over 300 pounds. Saw her about every day by the pool most of the day. She did have a nice tan.
