Question Do you participate in the various parties, deck parties, theme nights, etc...

Just curious how many of us actually get involved with the cruise activities such as parties, deck parties, theme nights, etc.

We usually do at least 1 or 2 each cruise.

While on our cruises we have a great time with our friends who we are cruising with I do think the more you are involved the more you get out of the actual cruise experience that the crew and cruiseline wants you to experience.

Don't you? I am not saying you do not have a good time without doing anything the ships promotes. Because we have a ball either way. I think the level of what you take home with you is different.

We do not participate in everything but a few things we will chose to do. The kids love to do a few things as well.

I try as much as I can thats what makes cruising so much fun. Don't do the pool games anymore but do most the other stuff.

I have to admit we do not, but we love to watch!! We are very busy all year, we have an extended family here from 96 down to 5 years old, and we do everything to keep all ages happy!! So when we finally get to cruise once a year, we kinda keep it low key and just relax!!
Some people try to turn back their odometers. Not me! I want people to know why I look this way. I've traveled a long way, and some of the roads weren't paved.

Since we do late seating, we have to do SOMETHING after dinner. So, we usually go up on deck if there is a party. We dance a little, we walk around, maybe find a quiet corner to sit and watch the night! If there is nothing outdoors, we may go to the disco for a bit or somewhere else to dance. (Have to work off a LITTLE of the dinner, you know. Can't go right to bed!)

We don't do the daytime Bingo, trivia, etc. If there is duplicate bridge, we play, or if there is something special, (I loved the hula lessons on our Hawaii cruise!), we may try it.

We try to fit in as much as we can. I think doing different things enhances a cruise experience.

On my first cruise (hubby's second), we took part in many activities. After that, he seemed less interested in them -- it was hard to drag him off to these. Fortunately some I can miss (bingo, horseracing, pool games). We do try to make the deck parties unless we're too tired. The first theme night we've ever seen on a cruise was "Island Night" on our last cruise, so we put on our matching Aloha wear bought a few nights before.

I'm a major trivia hound so on our last cruise when hubby met a fellow guitar player at the ukelele class and they decided to jam the whole afternoon, I took off and went from one trivia contest to another. My TV scene it team won first place and my TV tunes team tied for first (I was the only person in the room who can recognize the theme song from "Third Watch").

For us it depends on WHAT it is and HOW we feel at the time!

Probably, the thing we always enjoy most is sitting around at the Pool Bar listening to the Band!

It varies from cruise to cruise for us. Sometime we go to a lot of it and sometimes we chill out. In the early days, we went to everything.
