I have chosen a few times to not get off the ship. We took advantage of the empty ship. We had the pool and spa to ourselves.

We usually do this in Nassau, since we've been there a few times.
We really enjoy the relative quiet of the ship when there are relatively few aboard.
My husband is fond of saying "I went cruising, I didn't go porting," whenever we stop at a port he's been to before.
On our second Mex. Riviera cruise, I got sick (once again in Puerta Vallerta) so by Cabo, I felt like staying in bed. Hubby took our girl off the ship for a while while I slept after downing an allergy pill.
At many ports, we'll just go out, look around, and then make it back on the ship for lunch if it's not that interesting. Sometimes we may start a laundry load or just head to the pool area. On our last cruise, the service stop in Ensenada turned out to be a day's stay. We've been to Ensenada so many times that we just got off long enough to go to the little marketplace next to the pier so hubby can get a trinket for his mother. Then we returned to the ship and headed to the pool after lunch. Hot tub trumps being besigned by street peddlers any old day.

We enjoy being on the ship when it is less crowded, as well. Spa services, pool deck, activities, and visiting with the bar staff...all are our favorites.

Was THAT stupid! I wrote a post and hit "back page" instead of submit....lost the whole thing.
Anyhow, my favorite days. The last Mexican cruise I went into one port only to get pictures of the ship on the return tender.
I don't do anything special, just enjoy the quiet.

There are lots of ports that we have been to many times so sometimes we just sit around the pool, soak up some sun, read, have a cocktail -- just relax!!!
