I like to get off the ship for a couple hours and walk around, but then I want to get back onboard! I love how quiet the ship is during port days. I take advantage of the spa specials, lay around the pool, drink and relax.
Most ships that I have had the experience of being on will not make you get off when they port. That choice is really yours. Many people take advantage so that they can sight see and buy things, or just get a break from being at sea. But you can stay on board and do things on the ship without being in trouble.

I just came off a B2B on the Monarch of the Seas. It's foreign port is Ensenada ....
Once a week, in Ensenada, is good enough for me, so I elected to stay on board for the second Ensenada day.
Before anyone starts lighting the torches, keep in mind that I am self-employed and if I don't work, I don't make any money to go on cruises. I spent part of the second Ensenada day in the library, working. I got caught up on the mail that I ignored while preparing for the cruise and earned enough money to pay for both cruises.
I also took a break to play (and win) Trivia, so it wasn't all work!![]()
