Now you should contact Cruise Compete and let them know what the agency did, and let them know you expect to hear back from them. If I were CC, I'd bounce that outfit from my list of agencies pronto. Their entire premise rests on agents not making contact with you in that fashion.
I Did, this is the last response.

"Well, I see your point. While a past passenger number isn't contact
information, it can be used to get your contact information from the
cruise line. We'll look at adding some text to the privacy policy
    explaining this exception.

In the three and a half years we've been live on the web, you are the
first person to ever complain about this.

I talked to Bob and he basically said what you explained above flacruiser.

He's a very nice guy who I've known for some time now and I know he will rectify the issue for ongoing business practices.

He thanks you for bringing this to light.

Assuming the OP provided the name of the agent to CC (I can't recall now), has CC made any assurances that they're going to (at a minimum) have a LONG chat with that agent, or better yet, bounce them from their quote list?

This will not fix the problem. Any TA can do this. The solution is to remove the Past Passenger fields so this doesn't happen again.

If CC lets its participating agents know that they'll get bounced from the program if they're found using the information this way, it might well fix the problem.

The problem with coming up with an accurate quote is the number of variables involved in the pricing of some cruises. Age, state of residence, and past cruise history can each have some bearing on the pricing of a specific cabin category for an individual cruiser. The past history does make it a bit sticky. Perhaps what CC should do is include a field that requires the requestor to include any existing status with the line in question rather than specifying the number. That'd be a bit more work for their webmaster, as they'd have to create appropriately named selections for each of the line -- seems none of them use the same descriptions -- platinum, diamond, elite ...

    We've mulled this to death.

I talked to Bob (CC), flacruiser emailed. They thank us for pointing out the errors and hope to have it resolved very quickly.

How they choose to resolve this would be up to them. Rather than speculate how to fix it everyone here can make up their own minds whether they like the service or not and how they want to use them in the future.
