I would like to do a cruise like Norman did from Dubai to Barcelona through the Suez Canal but I would like it to go all the way to Southampton. I would pick a port balcony to watch the sun set over the desert and behind the pyramids. 3 weeks is a nice length. Cunard or Celebrity please.

Hi A romantic vision but you would need very good eyesight to see the pyramids at Giza from the Suez Canal

Firstly my last cruise from Dubai ended in Southampton not Barcelona.

I have always wanted to do a transit of the Panama Canal and also visit Alaska,

Okay. I will grant him a shore excursion or a good telescope! Not my thing but a fascinating choice.

Probably a cruise out of australia or the far east. The airfare alone would be high but with a free cruise I would swing it.
Former cruises: NCL Gem to Bahamas, Carnival Triumph to Canada, NCL Spirit to Western Carib., Carnival Pride to bahamas, NCL Pearl to Alaska.

Yes, the airfare can be a killer. in our case Deb has a bad back and fibermyalgia so flying coach for that ling would be total agony for her.

Hmm I read so many reviews I get mixed up, it was another cruise where you flew home from Barcelona.
I will do your cruise exactly Norman in fact I entered a competition to do just that .

And just maybe there are some smaller pyramids closer to the canal that nobody noticed before but would be only visible by the setting sun .

I'm torn between the river cruise and the Panama Canal. If I could have an aft AQ on Celebrity, that would be great. (they need to work this angle more!). The river cruise is very undecided....either one curls my toes though

I would love a river cruise. But that brings up another complication. Mississippi or Rhine?

If I win free cruise with Freedom choice from every cruise line, I want choose Crystal's world cruise on the Crystal Serenity. Cabin is suite with balcony.
Cruising is the best mode for having holiday off daily-routine.
