Have you ever done a short cruise to get to the next loyalty programme level?
I have not done this, but I know a few people who have.

No, but it's ok if others do
No, that would be cheating.

The shortest I have ever done was a 4 night and it had nothing to do with moving up. It was my first cruise ever and the cost factor made it appealing. While I have done a few more of those over the years they always fit time and money constraints. Then moved to the 7 nighters and now I like the longer ones.

We did. We had 6 credits on Celebrity when we booked our 10 day total B2B (2 five day cruises) In a CC class cabin we therefore got 4 credits making us Elite. So in effect we got 2 extra credits for a 3 day cruise.

Never did that...the per diem cost (including transportation) for a short cruise is too high. We were already Elite with Celebrity before they increased their Captain's Club benefits so there really wasn't any incentive to reach that milestone with the puny perks offered before that.![]()

We have done a few of the shorter cruises on Carnival but not to get to a higher level -- back then, there wasn't really any loyalty program on Carnival that we knew of. These were all from the Port of LA that we live near -- one was during the time I was pregnant, but that wasn't the reason we kept it short. Hubby was waiting for promotional interviews to happen so he didn't want to be out of touch for a whole week lest the mail came with a very short window of time (which was typical of his workplace). Then our next cruise was to introduce our daughter to cruising so we picked the same cruise. The last short one was the 4-day one and we booked it close to the sailing date.
After that, only one or two week cruises. Anything shorter just seems too short by the time one gets onboard and with the last morning not counting. And as Char said, the cost per day goes down as the length of cruise goes up.

I voted other because we are not obsessed with one particular cruise, just like cruising.

I've done it and bundled several cruises of 3-5 nights to get extra credits.
I'm way past that now and don't plan on going for any higher levels.
I'm Elite with Celebrity, Diamond Plus with Royal and Platinum with Carnival.

That is what we did. A total of 10 days on the B2B, twice as much credit to get to elite, and it was cheaper than a 7 day cruise. What more could you ask for?
