I do nothing. Around here we don't tan, we rust.
We do not spend too much time out in the sun, even when cruising.
The last few years I have learned to where a hat if I am out much...
That used to not be a problem but one day I ended up with red scalp.

The sun is not our friend! We use sun screen and hats to protect ourselves...no intentional tanning.

I'm very fair too, so I have to be carefull when I go outside. But with a good Sunscreen I have usually no problem.

I, too, am very fair but I live year round now in Florida so I have a constant tan. I do not sit out in the sun. If I am on the beach, I wear sunscreen and sit under an umbrella. I wear sunscreen year round. I always look for a shady place on a cruise ship. Gloria

Several years ago before going to Disney World, we made a few trips to the tanning salon to build up a bit of a real tan. A lot of Disney is not in the shade and we did not want to spoil our vacation by getting a nasty sunburn from too much sun that we would have to stand out in.

That is the only time I have been to a tanning salon and I must say, our precautions worked. No sunburn.
