    Most Scenic Sail-away

Where have you experienced the most scenic sail-away. I can only list areas in the poll but you can add which city in the write up. Even post a pic if possible.

Mine is South America sailing out of Rio De Janeiro.

The sail-away out of Port Everglades is actually very pretty! Especially, at night when many of the condos are flashing their lights.

Marmaris in Turkey has to be the prettiest port we have seen, only sailed on a sea cat and pleasure boat from the port but as most of Turkey it’s beautiful.

    Below AIDAaura leaving Marmaris.

I really couldn't vote as we have had so many scenic sail-aways.

    Right -- Rio was great.

    Venice

    Vancouver

    Montreal

    Several ports in the Baltic

    Istanbul

And I could go on as each port had something different that made it special.

Sorry don't have any pictures as they are in albums -- no digital cameras in those days.

We have sailed out of a number of ports that are very scenic.
I also do not have digital photos of most of them.

What was one of the most memorable sailaways for us was in 1993 leaving Hawaii. The captain took a detour so that we could watch Kilauea flowing into the sea at night. It is amazing that it is still flowing after all these years.

We've only embarked in three ports (LA, Miami and Seattle) and I would have to say Seattle has the most scenic view of those. We also went past Kilauea a few hours after leaving Hilo and everyone but everyone was up on deck (or looking from their balcony). You can actually see the lava fall into the ocean.

Come on Tony - you want me to choose just one :-) I can cut it down to 4.

    1) New York
    2) St Thomas at twilight
    3) San Juan also in the evening
    4) Sydney - anytime
