For me it doesn't matter - I'm used to both. As long as there is a pool.
I prefer fresh as to me it is more refreshing. With saltwaterpools you come out feeling sticky from the salt.

Nancy, the salt ones make me feel sticky too ... especially my hair!
I've always thought it was sort of neat that most HAL ships have both.

Princess ships have all fresh, so nice. I spent more time in pools on our 3 Princess cruises than the rest combined.

I'm not a pool person, but I think my family does prefer the fresh water. My hubby's complaint about the pools on our last cruise was that they were too cool.

Doesn't make any difference to me. Never use the pools on the ships. Probably because I'm already spoiled and have one at home. I'm a "floater" and don't like to swim, so ships pools aren't conducive for relaxing for me.

On four cruises, I used the pools once, so it doesn't matter to me. The water on the private island of NCL was too cold that day so I went back to the ship into the heated pool. Otherwise I don't usually have a bathing suit on as I prefer doing all the othe activities.
