As with most things in cruising, this is very subjective - what one person loves, another will hate. It also depends on whether you're talking about how a ship looks on the inside or the outside.
From an outside point of view, I really like the new Solstice-class ships in the Celebrity fleet - very pretty ships. And I also like the Radiance-class ships of the RCCL fleet. And I like the new Princess ships.
But then again, I like almost all of the new ships, with the exception of the NCL Epic. Saw it and couldn't believe how ugly that ship is.

When people first saw images of the new Royal Princess, which will debut in May 2013, someone noted she has straight lines so the "wedding cake design" seen on current Princess ships is not there. That may be great for people on Dolphin deck but will they think it is as pretty as it is functional?
The complaint about Norwegian's Epic being very ugly seems to be nearly unanimous. I can't think of one person who called her a pretty ship.

Hi I quite like the older Disney cruise liners, plenty of curves and both have well balanced profiles. Anything very linear in shape usuallly doesn't tick the right boxes in the "ship's beauty stakes". NCL's Epic isn't entirely linear and as plenty of curved structures but it still one of the least appealing ships ever constructed.
I have to also say Disney, just so beautiful and classical - even the new Dream and Fantasy.
