    Question Reasons people like cruising

I noticed very quickly there are many reasons people like cruising because they have unique vacation personalities. What draws you to booking cruise vacations?

There are many reasons I look forward to cruising: activities, food, and services onboard, a moving hotel room, shore excursions, and visiting lots of new places without paying a lot for rental cars and flight tickets. By activities, I mean concerts and lavish stage shows; the spa; swimming pools and hot tubs; art galleries; classes, lectures, and demonstrations; duty-free shopping; music and dancing; and the library. In cities, I like guided tours, gardens, castles, mansions, zoos, aquariums, beaches, museums, and churches. In other words, I am a busy traveler!

Hi For me the cruise line experience is paramount, the individual ship is of lesser importance. I prefer a relaxing holiday, with good attentive service and food. These three are becoming more difficult to find on the larger megaship run by the major cruise line companies. It is almost impossible to find a quiet place to relax on deck on sea days contrary to that implied in brochures. Fine dining is almost impossilbe unless you pay extra and the service although by no means poor cannot be called attentive. Unfortunately this means for me taking fewer cruises but spending a little more on each one in order to forefill my requirements.

For us, it's all about the ship. We have been travelers for a long time, both land and sea, and have enjoyed visiting other countries in the past. Now that we are older, we love the ship experience and seldom get off at the ports. We choose longer cruises with fewer ports of call so that we can enjoy the shipboard life.

Since I only had one choice ( other than other which is infinte choice), i chose All about the ship. It isn't really but it is mostly.

I could copy and paste Andrea's list and just delete spa and beaches , that would be us.

After realizing I should have included "All of the above," I wished I could edit the poll.

Oh well, I can't vote anyway because I have not cruised yet.

    I chose other.

It is the most cost-effective way to travel, AND be treated very, very well. In order to get the same service and comfort you get on a cruise on land, you have to pay significantly more at a hotel and/or resort.

It is also a great way to see places that you would have trouble seeing on your own, or that are just starting to welcome tourists.

One more thing. When you try to organize a land holiday that goes to as many places, there is SO much more planning required. A cruise makes vacationing EASY!
