Thanks, Neal! Guess that's a good reason not to believe everything we hear on TV!

Real security is what they have in Israel! That's what we should have here!

For many years, I've heard tale after tale that the very most thorough security measures in existence are those initiated by El Al, the Israel national airline!

"The World's Best Security," I've heard time and time agan

While I've never been subjected to this level of security, I'm grateful that it exists!

I'm preparing for my first transatlantic flight in many years early in August. I don't expect anything unusual!

Israel takes a very strong approach to security with people TRAINED in profiling possible terrorists and no qualms about pulling people to the side for detailed questioning. In the US 75% of the people pulled for questioning are little old ladies and young females. The TSA will not pull 19-35 year old men particularly of middle eastern origin because it is not politically correct to profile them. (How many terrorists in the 9-11 bombings were little old ladies? How many were 19-35 year old men of middle eastern origin?)

You are exactly correct! Me, my wife, my grown kids, my grand children, my friends, etc., are not terrorists and do not carry weapons or bombs aboard aircraft, however we would be pulled aside before the ones you mentioned! We all would rather be safe than politically correct!

Keith, as you can see, we have hit one of my sore points. I am usually not this passionate about most topics but this one is one I know something about......

I could care less about having a full body scan. But I was once patted down and felt dirty, icky, violated. In other words I hated it and thought it was totally unnecessary. I think out TSA screenings are a big farce and I cerrtainly don't feel any safer because of them. I agree with Israel, profiling is the way to go. As far as politically correct, I could care less and will never be politically correct. I hate that term and what it stands for. I go for honesty and if that offends some folks, too bad. That is their problem!
