We're not big spenders so it's not that much. On our 14-day cruise in December, hubby bought some photos (about $100 worth), we had some drinks (hubby bought some wine and specialty coffee, the girl bought sodas and I bought one drink on New Years Eve -- but we brought on some soft drinks, water and a box o' wine too). We didn't do any excursions this time as it was the same itinerary as our last cruise (when we did do three ship's excursions) and we didn't drop any $ in the casino. Also, no specialty restaurants. I did buy a few things in the store (a mug, some tee shirts).

HI It all depends on the length of the cruise. In addition whether I take some of the ship's excursions or tour independently.

Now that we're able to prepay for pretty much every thing (ie. soda package, tips, excursions) before hand our bill has gone from over $500 to maybe $200.

I checked 500-1000. Except for last January my last 4 cruises have been longer ones in Europe. We booked tours for every port and they are more expensive over there as many were 10 hours with lunch. (well worth it I might add). With tips, some pictures, coffee card, some drinks, and some shopping, the totals did go over 1000. However many Caribbean ones were under 500.

When DH got our final bill he was sure something was wrong ... because it was less than half of what it normally is!

I had to remind him it was a 7-Day cruise to the Bahamas ... not our normal 14 or 20 Day ones ....

Point being .... The lenght of the cruise and the destination are big factors in how much you charge to your account while cruising.

On our Noordam "Cruise to Hell" we actually got by with a credit. Of course, we had two shore excursions credited back to our account when we could not go on them, we did not do anything since we were confined to the cabin with Norovirus, the infirmary did not charge me anything since they did not do anything when I got my second degree burns, and I did not even use up all my soda card credit.

    Miserable cruise.
