Do you book a night in a hotel pre cruise?

We didn't use to, but since the airlines are so crazy these days we now do....so I'm wondering how many of you book a hotel pre cruise?

When we're flying or driving a long distance, we always do.

For cruises out of Charlestion or JAX we don't because they are easy drives for us.

Always for 2 night pre and 1 night post. Gives us a 10 day vacation and we are relaxed to cruise and relaxed to go home
Some people try to turn back their odometers. Not me! I want people to know why I look this way. I've traveled a long way, and some of the roads weren't paved.

Yes, we do. If we fly we always go a day early and book a hotel....if we leave from Port Canaveral or Tampa we stay at our daughter's house in Orlando the night before and they drive us to the port.

we have no choice but to stay in hotels pre cruise

for starters we have to stay in a hotel near our airport before our early morning flight

then since we have no direct flights to anywhere anymore -- there is no choice but to book a hotel in the embarkation precruise -- just in case something happens to one of the flights

    Short answer is yes.
There are other factors such as distance to embarkation port, method of transportation
    to the port and weather.

We alway do. I wouldn't take the chance of missing a cruise from thunderstorms, snow, mechanical problems or a flat tire/engine problems with our car going to the airport. Usually other cruisers do the same thing and often we meet for dinner. It's really a nice way to begin a cruise.

I would never want to chance delayed flights so when I cruised out of new orleans I went a day early. My other cruises from my home port of NY and driving distance of baltimore didn't need to. If the weather reports were bad for the weekend leaving from Baltimore I would have driven downthe day before, but luckily this terrible winter the snows were not there the weekend we left.
