If I am using transport provided by the cruise line like a bus or flight, I will travel on the day of sailing. If I am making my own way to the port, I always go at least one day before sailing sometimes more.

I have priority boarding so if I am already close to the port, I can be on board in time for lunch, if you travel down on the day it's a it too rushed and you are lucky if your bags arrive before dinner.

Hi My answer is similar to Stephen if I book a cruise/flight package through the cruiseline I take the flights arranged (if this is short haul it is usually on the day of departure, long haul usually means a night in a hotel). Non fly cruises usually depart from a southern UK port (350 miles away from my residence) so I usually travel down the day before and stay in a hotel.
