We do get a certain amount of vacation pay, paid into a fund by the producers and paid out once a year in a lump sum. This is in our union contract, and no doubt the spineless whinnies that run our union will give this away, like many other perks we have lost over the years.

I'm a set dresser, which means that I work on the crew that "dresses" the sets, all the furniture and any other 'decorations'. Basically I'm involved with just about everything you see on camera that isn't an actor or attached to an actor.

As I work for myself, I can decide my own vacations...however...no work...no income...so I have to be realistic!!

My vacation time is real confusing.We get 0.097 for every hour of work. It works out to be about 3 weeks a year.

Before that 28 days, part of the reason for early out was that upper management did not want some of us using the 28 days.
As PagodaSwan pointed out, the other side of the pond is much more enlightened when it comes to employment practices.

2 weeks and 2 personal days a year.

38 days.

That being said, those 38 days have to include ALL of my time off. Holidays, Sick, Personal and Vacation. But this way, we can take whatever "holidays" are important to each of us.

I would have though that 2 weeks would have been the most popular answer...

Self employed, get as many off as needed
