Would you turn down a free cruise?

If offered a totally free cruise on a specific line or ship, would you turn it down? By totally free, I am including tips, air fare, fees, pictures, alcohol, and shore excursions - everything but purchases made on the ship. Oh, and to make it real fun, include lost wages while you are on the cruise!

Is there any ship or line that you would refuse, any type of cabin or any destination?

When you sweeten the pot THAT much, I don't think there is a specific ship that I would turn down. I imagine there are some ships out there that I haven't heard of that I might turn down, but as of right this minute...I'm good to go!

Would prefer at least a balcony cabin, though. I mean, as long as they are footing the bill I might as well have the accomodations that I would normally book.

Yes I could contemplate turning it down if the 1099 you would get would be much more than it was worth. I have a friend who won a cruise in a poker tournament and the 1099 for the interior cabin alone was $10,000. That is just rediculous.

I guess it all depends on the Date and Cabin Category, but even at that - no I wouldn't turn it down.

I would contact the IRS. It sounds like someone has really jacked up the "value" of the cruise. I don't think any inside cabin is that much. Except for maybe a Cunard round the world, and I would not want to be in an inside cabin on that voyage!

Char, I have heard that smoking is a big issue on some Costa ships in Europe. That would definitely be a "no" from me.

If the cruise is "for two", then I'll take any ship, any where!

I'd surely have to read the fine print!

When my late wife and I were offered a cruise on a Regency Cruise ship after a "disastrous" one in 1994, we snapped it up. It cost me almost $2,000!

At the time, it was still a deal!
