    Favorite Shore Excursion Times?

When you're in port all day and you have a choice of tour times. Which do you prefer?

Note: It's multi since your preferences may vary from port to port. If you have no preference, mark them all.

Also, your reasons why would be interesting.

I like Morning tours so I can have a walk around the port after lunch and be back on board for afternoon tea

Come-on LuLu - you can get up early while in port!!

I cruise to see the sites - therefore I look for itineraries that travel to new destinations - then I am off to explore - the longer we are in port - the better I like it.

I chose mid-day and all day. Bob and I are retired and we don't like to get up before the sun rises. We like to have a leisurly breakfast before going on an excursion. I have seen excursions offered by the ship that begin at 7:30! No thank you! I think 9:30 - 10:00 is a nice start time.

We love touring and would go at anytime for a tour that interests us.

I voted for morning, mostly because they're most likely what's offered! Granted, I don't really like the ones that leave at oh-dark-thirty, but if they get back by lunch time, then I can get a salad in the Lido and enjoy it with a beer (or two) near the Lido pool!

Depending on the port, I may get off again and wander around, quite aimlessly.

Tours that are "all day" also appeal, especially if they ofer some sort of lunch! I just am uncomfortable with ones that take up virtually all the port time. [I've come perilously close to being left behind twice, both on the same cruise. Theoretically, because they were line-sponsored excursions, the ship would have eaited, but one wonders how long!]

Morning for me. Overall that means I have to get up otherwise I would waste the entire cruise in bed.

ON our last cruise, we got into Key West at 7 AM first day but Deb wanted to sleep in. Since the ship left at 2 PM, that did not give us a lot of time for seeing the sights. We still managed to take the conch tour around the island though we did not get off of it for any of the stops.

Spending time in bed can be an enjoyable experience on a ship as well.

But I can spend time at home in bed and it is a lot cheaper!
