Why shouldn't these hard-working folks (many of whom are still kids as far as I am concerned!) have such an amenity?

What do they bet on in these pools? How can I get in on the pool?

Oh wait -- you mean swimming pools? Never mind.

I agree, part of being able to put on a happy smiling face every day for a long work day is being able to enjoy oneself during your free time. I think that this benefits both the crew and the passengers, as well as the cruiseline. A happy crew member makes a happy passenger and a happy passenger spends $$$ and gives repeat business as well as rave reviews/word of mouth.

Helps keep them happy and healthy.

Last week we were walking on the outside deck one evening, and some of the drapes weren't drawn shut completely. We could see that they had a little gym, Internet cafe.

most definitely why would u take away a pool? there are people and desirve to enjoy themselves and relax aswell as a passenger on a ship. If it was a reversed situation and it happened to a passenger would you b asking to take the pools away from passengers?

Definitely. It is not fair having all of those trim, fit, healthy individuals share the pool with us tourists. We have enough illusions of looking good without stark reality spoiling it.

Crew members certainly deserve to relax and unwind. They work very hard. For us, the ship is our vacation. For the crew, the ship is their home for the duration of their contract.
