More and more lines seem to be doing round Britain cruises.
So here is the question, would you consider cruise around Britain?
Yes
No
Maybe
Been there done that

I don't know Stephen....never gave it much thought. Probably, if we lived across the pond it would be something to do----like the Caribbean is here for us folks who live in Florida.
Lanky Lad,
I voted maybe. If the timing and cost were particularly enticing, I might. Not living there, when I go I want to have as in depth an experience as possible. Given its compactness and excellent public transportation system, I would usually opt for a land vacation.
John
stephen, i voted maybe. with living near to the sea and in sussex i'd be more interested in the cruises that do scotland than the ones that focus on the areas that are near where i live.
N.C.L. DEPOSIT BOOKED... DON'T KNOW WHERE, DON'T KNOW WHEN
I would maybe do a Round Britain cruise. It would all depend on the ports visited of course![]()
Stephen .... This will sound dumb to you ... BUT ... please help me out and explain the difference between a British Isles cruise and an Around Britain cruise?![]()

We did one, and I would go back right now. Well, I need a few hours to pack, but I would go again. I loved all the ports we saw, and I have things I still want to do in every one one of them. And I see that the itineraries change by a few ports every year, so I would be glad to try new ones as well.
We saw Hadrian's wall from Newcastle, but lots of people used that port to go to York.
We saw Edinburgh Castle, but still need to see the city of Edinburgh.
We saw Loch Ness from Invergordon, but really need to go back and see more of the Highlands
We went to the Isle of Man!! LOVED IT!! WANT MORE!
We went to Giant's Causeway from Belfast and fell in love with the northern coast.
Went to Manchester from Liverpool, but need to see Chester also. And Liverpool!
One day in Dublin - NOT ENOUGH!!
Stopped in Waterford on a Sunday and did not do much because we were tired. But would like to go back and see more of that area.
Stopped in Milford Haven in Wales and got to see St. David's Cathedral. But we barely scratched the surface of southern Wales.
And then there was Guernsey! LOVELY!!! Want to go back! Want to find a knitting group there and learn some of their stitches.
Our cruise ended in Dover, and we did Dover Castle.
And there are ships that stop in Barrow in Furness which is the gateway to the Lake Country. And some ships stop on the Isle of Skye, or somewhere close. And I saw that some ships stop close to Glasgow.
The point is, there is more to Britain than London, and a cruise is a great way to see a lot of it, since your room and board are cheaper on a ship than on land. Paul Theroux calls Britain the Kingdom by the Sea, and so much is close to the coast.
We went because it looked interesting and we got to see relatives afterward. But I had SUCH a great time. Can you tell?

On hiatus from cruising, but still very interested!!!
I would do it if it's a warm weather cruise. I like to sit around the pool area sipping on cocktails and that is not fun if I'm bundled up in a hooded sweatshirt or parka. That's why I have stayed away from Alaska cruises, I don't like vacations in cold places.
Past cruises-Zuiderdam, Oct. 2009 / Emerald Princess, Oct. 2008 /Voyager of the Seas, Mar. 2007 /Oosterdam, Nov. 2007 /Adventure of the Seas, Mar. 2006 /Zuiderdam, Mar. 2005, /Maasdam, Mar. 2001, /Veendam, Dec. 2001, and many others
