I was raised by a father who constantly watched the news. So I usually check out the teletype news on the cabin TV. My hubby likes to know how the market did.
What about you? Do you need to know what the weather is like back home? Do you follow the world events even at sea? Do you just prefer to catch up after the cruise?

Yes When we are in the cabin we always check the news when we come in.
Some people try to turn back their odometers. Not me! I want people to know why I look this way. I've traveled a long way, and some of the roads weren't paved.
Most people walk into and out of your life . . . but FRIENDS leave footprints in your heart
I do watch the news at home but when I am cruising it is not tops on my list of things to do.

It's something that we are aware of, but unless there is something brewing, that we need to keep abreast of, we will catch as catch can on the TV or the daily printouts.
Well, it can be a very good thing to keep track of the news. Think of all the people who did not keep track of things and when getting back to Galveston two years ago after Ike discovering that the port was almost no longer there and their cars were a total write-off due to the flooding.

As the saying goes if ignorance is bliss, tis folly to be wise. There was nothing they could do so maybe it would be best not to know what was waiting for you.

I voted the first choice, that I am a news junkie. Actually it is my DH who is, and reading the news is part of his way to relax. I stay connected on vacation, but usually thru e-mail.
I do want to know what's going on at home to some degree - if a hurricane hits home, I want to know that my cat was evacuated and is doing OK.
I also stay in touch so my folks know I am OK - they worry about us.
