Unless there is some sort of Big News pending, we don't normally watch the news until a couple of days prior to our return time.

One thing I don't want to know about it the Stock Market!

For me it is no I'm on vacation. If we catch the news on tv fine if not fine. There was one cruise that we did use the internet to email and that was when Wilma hi, of course we live only an hour and a half from Ft Lauderdale so we did want to find out how our home was. But other than that we don't go only line. And don't care if we don't read a newspaper.

I won't say I'm a junkie, but it always seems to take DW an hour to get dressed for dinner in the MDR. During that hour I surf the news on my laptop, including my home town newspaper web site.

I probably should have added that it does depend where we are cruising. When we were in the Black Sea, my folks called a lot. Turkey was in the news back home, and they were worried. (For no reason!)

When we were in the Caribbean, they didn't call at all, and we didn't write as much.

No way to check local news back home on a ship.

If the news is on the TV when we are in the Neptune Lounge -- then we will listen for awhile.

On our last cruise I got to listen to a lot of news (not much else but watch TV when you are confined to your room with Noro) Too bad most of the news was in Spanish.
