Arrived in Boston for a NCL Majesty cruise to Bermuda a few years ago, the ship was not there. A hurricane skirted Bermuda while it was in port and local authorites would not let it leave until the storm passed. NCL called all the pax to tell them the problem and not to show up until the following day. There were many like myself who did not get the message and arrived at the pier with no ship. NCL put us up in a nice hotel, paid for dinner & breakfast, shuttled us to the ship the next morning and gave us all a $100 obc. The cruise ended up to be 6 days instead of 7. There was some confusion at the pier as you would expect. NCL had to book many rooms in nice hotels (Hilton, Hyatt, Marriott, etc) in downtown Boston on the last minute. I think NCL did the best they could under the circumstances, but some people were very upset for the whole 6 days.

What an adventure. NCL realy knows how to turn a bad situation into a good one.
We've never had a problem but we always carry books, magazines and medication with us so I know we'd survive!!
Great idea to have a survival kit with you. I would have a very tough time going 24 hours without my meds. After reading many trip reports from the Oct. BOS cruises I can see that all the advise about backup plans was right on. I will be looking at all the flights back to Sweden from Barcelona on my return date (and the flights available on a couple of days following my return). Lee
