So far, we have only one person voting that they aren't cruising at all because of H1N1.
Most would still cruise, but take special precautions.
We are beginning to also get some votes on 'much ado about nothing.'
It will be interesting to see how the votes stand at the end fo the voting period.
Hi, wash your hands with soap often, avoid contact with people who are sick.
stay in good general health.
if you do get sick, go to the doctor within 2 days .
people who have chronic health problems or of certain ethnic origins are more likely to get a bad dose of flu.
another thing if you do decide to travel...check your insurance, if it would pay out for a pandemic. if you should get the swine flu.
I think a lot of insurance companies will not pay.
I'm glad that Reggie and Lars voted the same as I did. I was wondering if I was living recklessly
Neal, the thought of being quarantined onboard a ship is bad enough. But then the blow dryer exploding and HAL's response to it just takes it over the top I hope that eventually HAL realizes something should be done for you!
I think people with chronic health problems would have a different perspective, which I understand because any type of virus for them could be much worse. For the most part, DH and I are healthy and we're in our mid-40's so that does play a role in how I voted since we're not at the "flu shot" point in our lives just yet.
My Dad had chronic health issues and I remember his Specialist stressing the importance of a flu shot for everyone who would be around him. At the time, I could not afford to get even a mild dose of the flu that the shot may have triggered so I asked the Dr. why would I need it? Since my Dad already had the shot he shouldn't be at risk. The Dr. never did give me an answer so I never got the shot or the flu.

I have a Nov cruise booked and I am going! No different being on a ship or the office building I work in, or the malls shopping, or grocery shopping or any other thing I do daily. I will do no precautions, never have and never will. Only thing I ever do is just wash my hands as needed and able.
I did get a flu shot once, back in nursing school, got the flu and that was the only time I missed classes. Haven't had a flu shot since, and haven't had the flu, so probably will still not get the shots. No guarentee it will be the right vaccine for the flu that goes around anyway. I'm not against all vaccines, just this one! If I get sick I get sick.
