Wow, I voted much ado about nothing and apparently I'm the only one
Maybe I've been married to my DH for too long? He is a plumber for a living so he's around stuff that most people don't want to be around. He seems to think that maybe his job has made him immune to certain ailments/viruses. I have to admit, it's very rare for him to be ill, even a common cold is rare for him.
I had food poisoning once and he ate the same things I did and was fine so his take on it does makes me wonder, which is why I voted on the poll the way I did.

I am with Judy and Reggie! The H1N1 is hyped up to much. Its not worse than normal influenza, but the news like to play it out worse then it is so we get this big scare on our hands.
I get my flu shots as normal each year and wash my hands like normal.

On flu shots: It is possible that there will be a 'normal' flu shot and an H1N1 flu shot. Stay tuned to info as it develops and check with your physician.

From everything I have read, that will be the case----2 shots because the vaccine for H1N1 is still in the works.
Loved your response! There's hope for those of us addicted to doggerel yet!
Seriously, sorry to hear that you fell ill on a cruise. Happened to my Son-in-law 'bout a month ago. He essentially lost 5 days from an 8 day cruise -- and the remaining three days weren't exactly a box of Godivas. He was laid low by one of those 'Please let me die -- temporarily' bugs. It isn't a nice thing.
Calm seas and fair weather to you.
Jim
What was really bad was the morning after the day I was released I was getting ready for my first shore excursion in 3 days when I got seriously burned by the hair dryer that came with the room. It exploded in my hand throwing burning metal, plastic, and what not at my neck and at the floor. We immediately called in a possible fire emergency and a medical request. HAL responded with a new hair dryer. It took the better part of the morning to get the whole thing under control since the medical personnel "would take an hour to make it to your room, can you come down to the infirmary in half an hour when it opens?" and they did not seem worried about the burning embers that hit the carpet.

Your experince should make everyone realize it's not a good idea to expect the cruise line to take care of you ... even when it's their fault.
