I had to vote other on this one.
I can't recall that we have ever been on a ship for a special occasion, so haven't had the opportunity to decide how to treat this.

I voted yes cause I finally got DH to cruise the Caribbean and it was over his Nov birthday ao I told them it was his birthday. Balloons were outside our door and he got a cake with candle and the birthday song at dinner. He grew up without any birthday parties and really doesn't go for them so we never celebrate. But I just had to do it this once and glad I did. And he did survive!!!

My husband and I don't usually celebrate birthdays on a cruise, but do for our anniversary.
this year whille on a cruise , friends gave me a surprise party with 22 people for lunch.it was lovely, but I felt a bit embarrassed, because they did it all again at dinner.
(husband was not with me, he was cruised out and decided he would go on a fishing trip instead)
    kind regards, Lorraine
Lorraine .... Men!!!! Hope this was your Birthday, not your Anniversary!

Of course. Deb and I love to try to embarrass the other one by announcing special events. Of course, neither of us ever gets flustered and I think we both secretly love the attention.

Some time I will tell everyone about the belly dancer.

We are in the sometimes category. If we are traveling with others they will usually tell anyway. We have often been on ships for our anniversary.
