Will Kiosks make a big difference or not?

Carnival is trying kiosks as a check-in alternative at the Miami termiman.

What do you think about this?

    Will it make a difference?

Is this a change whose time has come, of will it make crusing just a little less personal?

If you haven't heard about this, you can read about it here: http://www.cruiselinefans.com/carniv...sks-miami.html (Check-in Kiosks in Miami)

In general, just what do you think of this whole idea?

I think it is nuts. If you watch people trying to use them in airports it is terriible. Many have no idea what they are doing and if you are behind them it is very frustrating. Many are not tech savvy
Some people try to turn back their odometers. Not me! I want people to know why I look this way. I've traveled a long way, and some of the roads weren't paved.

Well . . . looks like that's one vote for 'this idea really stinks.'
Think I should make that one of the options???

I don't like the idea, it's too impersonal. I love to hand my passport to the smiling agent to start the wheels in motion to board the ship.

However, the cruise lines are going to have to do something to speed up the boarding process of the giganto ships! Maybe this is a trial to see if it's a viable option for getting that many passengers on the ship before time to sail.

I can just see the fiasco with 99 people in lines and the computers have a blimp... and they lose all they put in... Ummm not really happy to see the greeters losing their jobs either... I will not use the computers at stores for quick check out either... Just because they put people out of work.. So my vote will be NO on using them..

I don't like this idea one little bit!!

We won't even use the kiosks at the airport.

Hope HAL doesn't decide to try this.

As I don't sail from Miami, I can't comment, but I hope they help.
